This is the number one recipe in my house. I make this multiple times a year and this year actually made 6 batched for the Christmas holiday. There are many variations of this recipe out there. This is the original and I think the best. Guys, you need the butter.

Ingredients
Sauce
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 1/2 tsp seasoned salt
- 2 1/2 tbsp worchestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
Mix
- 8 cups chex type cereal I use a mix of crispix, corn and rice chex. You can also put wheat chex and bran chex in the mix if you want.
- 1 cup cocktail peanuts NOT dry roasted
- 1 cup broken pretzels
- 1 cup broken rye chips I use pinah. They are the best

Instructions
- Melt together the sauce ingredients in a roasting pan if you are putting in the oven or a large microwave safe bowl in doing in the microwave. (I have the large white Tupperware bowl I use for only chex mix) Add the cereal mix ingredients and toss to coat. Put in 250 degree oven for 1 hour stirring every 15 min. If you are doing in the microwave cook for 1 1/2 minutes and then stir. Do this 3 times. (If after the 3 times the mix does not look darker and really hot, do one more time.) Spread on paper towel to cool.
