Dump the two bags of puffs into a large roasting pan.
Dissolve the baking soda in the vanilla and set aside.
In a large sauce pan and the brown sugar, butter and corn syrup and boil for 5 min. (gentle boil).
Remove from heat and add the vanilla mixture, stirring completely. Pour over puffs and mix.
Bake at 225 degrees for 40 minutes stirring every 10 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool. Break into pieces.
