- 6-8 cups peeled chopped tart apples (I use Ida Reds)
- 2/3 cup Brown sugar (I use Splenda Brown Sugar)
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp fresh ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup water
- Combine in a heavy saucepan and cook over med heat to desired texture (about 25 minutes to chunky stage). Cool.
